Peterson Family - An Adoption Story
The Petersons reached out to me in July 2024 about newborn photos for their upcoming adoption of a little boy here in Colorado Springs. They are active duty military stationed abroad. Dad is a pilot and mom is a flight nurse. We hit it off quickly and I was excited to help them welcome their long-awaited son! The time finally came for their baby's birth, and they flew back to the US and began to prepare to receive their new baby. Unfortunately, the adoption fell through and we all walked away disappointed. One mom to another, we shared our grief and hoped for another chance to make their baby dreams come true.
Some months passed and that chance became reality! On a short notice, they were matched with a family in Utah and all the pieces fell into place. They finally had a baby of their own! I cried tears of joy for them when I got the message that everything had been finalized and the baby was with them and everyone was adjusting well. They came back to Colorado Springs to spend Christmas with their families, and at long last, I got to meet them in person. These are some of the nicest, kindest people, and they will be the most amazing parents to their sweet baby boy. They requested an aviation theme for their session and I was only too happy to make that happen for them! I am so proud of their gallery, it is seriously one of my best. It is such an honor to be a part of their story and get to capture this incredible journey they are on.
